A draft concept plan to revitalise the AMC Park and Mitchell Street Community Centre is being presented to the community on Saturday 19 March 2022.

City of 91Ï㽶µ¼º½ Mayor Shane Van Styn said the draft plan developed by local community members will change the look and feel of the area located in the heart of the suburb.

“The proposed designs feature adventurous playground activities, a bush tucker garden, alterations to the Mitchell Street Community Centre, a cultural meeting space, shaded areas, more parking and so much more,” he said.

“The year six Bluff Point Primary School students and the Spalding Urban Renewal Team made up of local residents, service providers and business operators have worked closely with landscape architects to develop the plan.

“Together, they have done a fantastic job of turning the high level recommendations for the area in the Spalding Precinct Plan into a detailed draft plan ready for feedback from the community.

“Once the draft plan has been finalised, construction will begin thanks to $3,034,999 in funding from the Department of Communities,” he added.

Anyone interested in reviewing the plans and providing their feedback to the team are invited to drop into the Mitchell Street Community Centre in Spalding anytime between 9am to 11am on Saturday 19 March 2022. Everyone is welcome.
